Who is considered a direct relative?

Regardless of nationality, a UK national´s direct relative is his/her:

Spouse;
Direct descendant (children, grandchildren) who is younger than 21 years of age or dependant and such descendants of the spouse;
Dependent direct relative in the ascending line (parents, grandparents, great-grandparents) and that of the spouse.
